13 in 2013’ – Thirteen things you can look forward to from Tumbhi

1. More interesting contests

Tumbhi, known for its authentic, vigorous and amazing Online Contests will have much more to offer to its participants in 2013.

With the horizons of Poetry, Short Story, Photography in different genres, Short film Making etc already explored, the participants and enthusiasts will have more to look forward to from Tumbhi contests – in terms of the subject, themes, prize and the overall ‘impact’ of winning these contests.

With sturdy plans for making these contests more challenging, Tumbhi contest participants can expect much more excitement with the increased level of difficulty and the quality of competition in these contests.

2. Tumbhi e-Books

Late 2012 we had called for entries for publishing an e-book. In the first quarter of 2013, Tumbhi plans to launch two e-books: in Poetry and Photography. Based on entries submitted by different artists from across the world, these books will be based on a compilation of the finest of 25 poems and photographs chosen by the eminent jury panel.

Apart from these two, more versions, genres and subjects are being thought of to bundle up other amazing e-books to be launched soon.

With these eBooks, we are trying to fulfil the desire of artists of getting published in a book – name and fame follows!

3. Book Launches

On the footsteps of eBook, Tumbhi also plans to launch a hard bound, physical Book of artworks of Tumbhi artists.

The whole idea is to immortalize the art and create something new and different out of all the contributions exclusively from Tumbhi artists.

4. Workshops – for nurturing the artists

You don’t want to stay where you already are

Going with Tumbhi’s vision of nurturing the artists, Tumbhi has plans to conduct a series of workshops for writing, film making and photography. These workshops will offer the artists an excellent opportunity to meet the veterans of the art-field and learn from their knowledge and experiences.

These workshops have been planned to be kept open for both amateurs and professionals – just demarcating the levels of expertise among various Tumbhi artists.

5. Forums and Discussion Boards

Tumbhi to its credit already has 3 microsites viz. Photography, Short films and writing – so as to create an exclusive, unperturbed, art category specific experience for the artists and art lovers visiting the site. We also realised that delivering such an experience for our art lovers would bear some kind of reaction too, they will have a lot of things to ask, share, discuss etc Therefore Tumbhi in its 2013’s diary, has plans to come up with a Discussion Boards section on its microsites. Artists can use these discussion boards to discuss their ideas, get feedback on their artworks from fellow artists, art lovers, share tips and ideas and share knowledge.

6. Tumbhi on Mobile

With smartphones now taking over even wives and girlfriends, Tumbhi has taken the flight from a computer to the handsets.

Now available on your mobile devices, Tumbhi app is sure to bring in a lot of ease and speed!  For artists who are on move and want to make the best use of their travel/ commute time, here is Tumbhi , right on your Phone screen. The Tumbhi app allows artists to create their portfolio, view other artists artworks, share, comment and do much more. What is more? Once registered with Tumbhi, the artists can also get notifications , alerts and email updates on their mobiles.

The first version of the Tumbhi app will be available for Android phones and soon we will also launch it for iOS, Blackberry and other smartphones.

7. Opportunities for artists

2013 is bound to see many new opportunities for Tumbhi artists coming up in the form of prospects in cinema, production houses, media houses, chances to showcase their talent live and much more!

8. Guftagu with Tumbhi in More Cities

“Guftagu”, a Conversation over coffee about art event, organized recently by Tumbhi in Pune saw an amazing drift in its artists. 20 handpicked Pune-based Tumbhi artists, from different fields of arts like writing, photography, Film making , Fine arts became part of it and along with the vital discussions and knowledge sharing , there was networking, friendship and a bonding at a different level.

Now moving ahead from here and considering the wide spread presence of Tumbhi artists all over the nation (and abroad) Tumbhi plans to organize more “Gufatagu” events different cities in India, thereby connecting more artists and making more art!!

9. Wildlife Photography Tour

On photo card of Tumbhi , photographers have something really wild to expect in 2013.

With its 28 different themes of Photography, Tumbhi photography is at a different level altogether. A Tumbhi Photography Contest held in 2012 namely “Nature and wildlife Photography Contest” saw amazing response. Based on the potential hidden in those frames, Tumbhi plans to take its wildlife Photographers on a photo tour – details of which will be kept only to surprise its participants pleasantly later!!

10.Short Film Festival

Short film making was something with which Tumbhi first started with back in year 2010 along with Anurag Kashyap. Slowly and steadily, the short films making culture grew in the world of arts and Tumbhi launched its own exclusive site for Short Film making in 2012.

Realising that Short Films are best appreciated and exposed in Film Festivals,  Tumbhi plans to organize a Short Film Festival in 2013 which would invite Short Films from all over the world inclusive of the short films submitted by Tumbhi Artists.

11.Poetry Recitation Events

Poetry is only incomplete until it’s read out loud.

Given the fact that poetry is understood better when heard than read, Tumbhi holds concrete arrangement of organizing poetry recitation events in 2013 on its chart!

These events might be seen as an opportunity for Tumbhi artists to perform live as well as a great exposure to showcase their talent. They will also get an opportunity to share the stage with stalwarts in the industry.

12.Tumbhi at College Fests

Youth spirit is sure to color Tumbhi this year. With amazing colleges fests happening in our nation, showcasing enormous talent of Youth in practically all aspects of art, Tumbhi plans to reach out to more and more students and youths through college fests. Tumbhi will have some interesting contests and workshops planned exclusively for the students with some cool prizes!

13.Social media will pull you

With Facebook, Twitter and Blogging already burgeoning, Tumbhi plans to throw in more fun on your timelines in 2013. Tumbhi plans to leverage social media at a broader and deeper level to reach out to more artists and also to provide more exposure to the artists on board.
